Choices?

Exercising choice is just one of a range of activities that improve health and well-being for humans and dogs. It's simple to do, too.

It may be as straightforward as providing two dog food bowls with a different tasty piece of food in each one or, when it is safe to do so, letting your dog choose the direction of part of your walk.

Of course, one of the most significant areas to consider is the choice of engagement with other dogs or people. Not all dogs want to be touched by humans or to interact with another dog, and the lack of choice or control in these situations can result in avoidance activities such as barking, lunging or even biting.

Every dog is different and has their likes and dislikes, but, just like us, things feel much better when you know that you have choices open to you.
